Bio

Cameron Savage is a printmaker and artist from Murray, Kentucky. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Murray State University in 2020 where he discovered his love of printmaking. While completing his undergraduate studies, he ventured through the state that he had called home, exploring its vast farmlands, dense woods, and monumental rock structures. This is where he developed a love of drawing the marks of erosion and investigating textures of decay.

In 2021, Cameron moved to Louisiana to begin his graduate studies at Louisiana State University in printmaking. His work changed alongside his physical displacement. He was looking toward the lush swamps, colossal live oak trees, and industrial monoliths for inspiration. Other sources of inspiration originate from the occult, spiritualism, and heavy metal culture. Cameron prefers to work with the immediacy of pen to paper, the access of neon colors in screenprinting, or the carving of hundreds of small lines from a woodblock. No matter the medium, his work is a reaction to his physical environment as well as his investigation as to what it means to process human consciousness.
